Police from Arlington Heights responded about 2:30 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021 to multiple activated burglary alarms in Arlington Heights. Police responded to four locations in Arlington Heights and discovered four break-ins. The break-ins occurred about 40 minutes after a commercial burglary in McHenry.

Police discovered a break-in through a glass door at Liquor Mart, 704 East Kensingon Road near Hickory Avenue. Details regarding what items were taken were not initially available. The ATM was not taken.
Police also discovered a break-in at the Metra train station, 45 West Northwest Highway in downtown Arlington Heights. A small ATM was taken away from the train station with an estimated $2,500 cash taken. The offenders broke through a glass window at the front of the Metra train station on the north side of the building.
Police also discovered a break-in at Northwest Auto Wash and Detail Center at 900 West Euclid Avenue in Arlington Heights. The offenders attempted to break away with the small ATM, but only damaged the ATM. Instead the burglars took Twinkies. Offenders broke through a glass door at Northwest Auto Wash on the south side of the building.
Police also discovered a break-in at Esplanade Wine & Spirits, 2948 West Euclid Avenue in Arlington Heights. Offenders were in the store for a very short time, but took cash from the cash register and possibly some liquor inventory. The offenders also broke through a glass door on the south side of the building.
Earlier at about 1:50 a.m. offenders burglarized the Liquor & Wine Place at 2202 West Route 120 in McHenry. Offenders entered the business and took a safe or ATM from the store. The offenders may have used three vehicles while committing the crime … a black Dodge Charger, a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee, and a black Dodge Durango. The vehicles are believed to have been stolen.
Similar descriptions were involved regarding the commercial burglary in McHenry and the commercial burglaries in Arlington Heights. Arlington Heights and McHenry police are working together to confirm whether the suspects in the crimes are connected.
