Illinois State Police and firefighters and paramedics from Palatine responded about 6:02 p.m. Thursday, September 23 2021 to a report of a rollover crash in the northbound lanes of Route 53 south of Lake Cook Road near Arlington Heights and Palatine.
Firefighter/paramedics reported there was no entrapment, but 7 patients were being evaluated, and that four would be transported to area hospitals. An ambulance from Lake Zurich was assigned to respond to the scene at about 6:07 p.m., and an ambulance from Arlington Heights was assigned to respond to the scene about 6:13 p.m. Arlington Heights was returned before the crew arrived to the scene.
Patients were transported to Northwest Community Hospital and Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital.
Possibly three vehicles were involved scattered across all lanes. A rollover was not confirmed on size-up. A green Fiat convertible, a white Jeep, and another unknown vehicle.
Traffic was backed up to Dundee Road at 7:00 p.m.
