White Sox made history with the first MLB home run in Dyersville (and the state of Iowa) by José Abreu, and first walk-off home run by Tim Anderson. Each team scored four home runs. All eyes enjoyed watching each home run drop into the corn beyond the outfield.
José Abreu hit a solo home run with two outs off Yankees starter Andrew Heaney.
Aaron Judge hit a three-run homer in the top of the third inning.
Eloy Jiménez hit a three-run homer, and Tim Anderson hit an RBI double in the bottom of the third.
Seby Zavala hit a 2-run homer for Chicago in the bottom of the fourth.
Yankees’ Brett Gardner hit a solo home run in the top of the sixth.

Yankees Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton each hit two-run homers in the top of the ninth, giving the Yankees the lead 8-7. Stanton’s homer gave the Yankees the lead 8-7, but it looked White Sox centerfielder Luis Robert might have caught the ball if he hadn’t crashed his head into the top of an opening in the centerfield fence while jumping to catch the ball. Seeing the corn through the home run fence was a great visual effect, but engineers will have to fix that issue to prevent that from happening again. Hopefully Luis Robert did not injure his head, neck or shoulder. Luis Robert just returned from the 60-day injured list following a non-contact hip flexor injury in May 2021.
Tim Anderson finished the game with a thrilling homer for White Sox fans — a two-run walk-off home run off of Yankees’ Zack Britton in the bottom of the ninth for a 9-8 victory over the Yankees.
