Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded around 12:27 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2021 to a report that the first police officers on the scene were at the scene where a person was injured after jumping off of a balcony at the Red Roof Inn, 22 West Algonquin Road in Arlington Heights.
The injured victim was located on the south side of the building near Arlington Heights Road.
Police were investigating a report of a domestic battery and arrested Shawn Hampton, age 39, of Chicago and Maywood at 1:00 a.m. Shawn Hampton was charged with Domestic Battery/Bodily Harm and Interference with Reporting Domestic Violence.
Hampton was held on $60,000 Bond and remained in custody in Cook County Jail housing as of Monday, August 2, 2021. The next scheduled court date for Shawn Hampton is August 11, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. in Court Room 107, Cook County Circuit Court Rolling Meadows.
Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in criminal court.
Initially there was no information whether the injured jumper victim was the suspect of the domestic battery or the victim of the domestic battery victim.
