Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Elk Grove Village responded about 9:32 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2021 to a report of a natural gas leak during driveway reconstruction work at a house in the block of 100 Crest Avenue in Elk Grove Village.
Firefighters discovered a feeder line going to the house was broken at the gas meter. Firefighters reported that a dig may be necessary for gas line repair at this scene. The gas leak was a significant leak and Crest Avenue is blocked at least from Wildwood Road to Woodcrest Lane.
Winds from North at 15 MPH with gusts to 22 MPH reported by the National Weather Service office at O’Hare International Airport at 8:51 a.m.
