Eagle Scout project building swim benches for Recreation Park in Arlington Heights should save park district $10-15K. YouTube Tips ⓘ
Connor Neill’s Eagle Scout Project with Boy Scouts of America Troop 34 is saving the Arlington Heights Park District $10,000 to $15,000. The service project that helps the community involved the construction of 16 swimming benches that will be used for the bullpen at the annual swim meet at Recreation Park in Arlington Heights. The Arlington Heights Park District will able to use their own benches instead of leasing seating at a rate of $1,000 per year over the next 10 to 15 years. The benches should last 15 years, and might be used for other swimming events at Recreation Park.
Connor Neill supervised the swim bench project, and was involved in some of the construction work along with friends and scouts that gained experience with the project that may help their future progress to Eagle Scout.
❝ Since 1912, the Eagle Scout rank has represented a milestone of accomplishment—perhaps without equal—that is recognized across the country and even the world. Those who have earned the Eagle Scout rank count it among their most treasured achievements. “Eagle Scout” is not just an award; it is a state of being. Those who earned it as youth continue to earn it every day as adults. That is why an Eagle Scout IS an Eagle Scout—not was.❞
