Antioch police officers on midnight shift on Monday July 19, 2021 arrested 37-year-old Antioch resident Scott Sewell and recovered a stolen Ruger 9mm handgun, ammunition, and a methamphetamine pipe during an investigation in the area of Ginger Lane and Main Street in Antioch, according to Antioch Police Department.
Sewell was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon which is a Class 3 Felony with a sentencing range of 2-5 years in prison. Sewel also faces charges for operating a motor vehicle with a Revoked Driver’s License and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Sewell was remanded to the Lake County Jail on a $75,000.00 bond pending an upcoming court appearance on July 21, 2021.
Antioch police officers on midnight shift on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 arrested 19-year-old Antioch resident Trent Erickson and recovered a shotgun which had the barrel cut, a modified stock, and the serial number purposefully defaced. Police discovered that the shotgun was stolen. The investigation leading to the arrest took place in the block of 900 Tiffany Road in Antioch.
Erickson was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon which is a class 4 felony with a sentencing range of 1-3 years imprisonment as well as Possession of a Firearm without a Firearm Owners Identification Card which carries the same sentencing range.
Erickson was remanded to the Lake County Jail on a $50,000.00 bond pending an upcoming court appearance on July 29, 2021.
