Woodstock police, firefighters and paramedics responded about 6:58 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2021 to a report of a vehicle crash into a building at Woodstock Food Mart, 1013 Seminary Avenue (Route 47) in Woodstock.
Police, firefighters and paramedics on the scene discovered a gray SUV into the building and discovered a female customer with injuries inside the store and crash debris by 7:02 p.m. A LifeNet medical transport helicopter was immediately put on standby. The helicopter crew met the Woodstock Fire ambulance at the Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital landing zone.
The female victim inside the store was airlifted from Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. The male driver of the SUV refused medical attention at the scene, according to Woodstock Fire Rescue District. There were no other occupants in the SUV.
Fire command reported structural damage at the convenience store, and requested the Woodstock Building Department respond to the scene.
