On Thursday night May 21, 2021 an interesting configuration of time will occur.
At 21 minutes and 21 seconds past 9:00 p.m. we will pass through the 21st second of the 21st minute of the 21st hour of the 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st century … IF you agree with historians and intellectuals that believe the 21st century began on January 1, 2000.
However, many historians and experts declare that the 21st Century actually began in 2001 (not 2000); and with that assessment, we will at least pass through the 21st second of the 21st minute of the 21st hour of the 21st day of 2021 … but we’ll be in the 20th year of the 21st century.
According to the Wikipedia entry for 21st century, the 21st (twenty-first) century is the current century in the Anno Domini era or Common Era, in accordance with the Gregorian calendar, and the 21st century began on January 1, 2001 (MMI), and will end on December 31, 2100 (MMC). The 21st century is the first century of the 3rd millennium (2001 to 3000).
