Illinois State Police and firefighters and paramedics from Rolling Meadows responded about 4:06 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2021 to a report of a crash with injuries on southbound Route 53 south of Kirchoff Road near Rolling Meadows.
The first fire unit on arrival reported a semi-trailer truck involved with debris in the roadway. No injuries involved in the incident. A semi-trailer truck had a blown tire.
Traffic slowdown in the southbound lanes of Route 53 quickly built up to Euclid Avenue. Southbound traffic was backed up past Palatine Road to about Anderson Drive by 4:30 p.m.
The incident was cleared by 5:00 p.m. and traffic was moving normally.
