Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Cary responded about 6:40 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2021 to a report of a house fire in the block of 500 Holly Lynn Drive in Cary. Firefighters on arrival reported fire showing.
Flames were showing through the roof, and firefighters used an aerial tower stream and tanker (tender) operations to fight the fire.

A MABAS Division 5 Box Alarm #5-270 was activated at 6:58 a.m.
The fire was upgraded to a Second Level Box Alarm by 7:12 a.m.
Firefighters, paramedics and command officers from Algonquin, Crystal Lake, East Dundee, Lake Zurich, Long Grove, Marengo, McHenry, Mundelein, Palatine Rural, Richmond (unavailable), Wonder Lake (unavailable), and Woodstock responded to the scene assignments for mutual aid.
Firefighters, paramedics and command officers from Carpentersville, Huntley were assigned to stand by at Cary fire stations.
With the fire under control, some mutual aid firefighters were released from the scene beginning about 8:00 p.m. Some mutual aid firefighters were released as late as 10:30 a.m.
Unfortunately, extensive damage occurred to the home with much of the roof burned through. Firefighters saved content in the garage by pulling items out of the garage during the fire.
