Garbage Truck Contents Fire on Dunton Ave Near Magnolia St, Arlington Heights

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 11:13 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 to a report of a garbage truck contents fire in the block of 1100 South Dunton Avenue in Arlington Heights.

The Waste Management driver dumped his load in the street to prevent the truck from catching fire. Engine 3’s crew put one hand line water stream on the fire. The fire was extinguished by 11:30 a.m.

Waste Management brought crews and equipment to the scene to clean up and sweep the street.

According to the National Weather Service observations at Chicago O’Hare International Airport 9:51 a.m., wind was from the Southwest at 13 MPH, gusting to 21 MPH, Air Temperature was 73°F, Dew Point was 52°F and Relative Humidity was 48%. Air Pressure 29.88 in and 1011.4 mb.
