Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Des Plaines responded about 12:37 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2021 to a report of a detached garage in the block of 400 Florian Drive in Des Plaines.
Squad 63’s crew reported a column of smoke while responding to the fire. Des Plaines police on arrival reported the garage was fully-involved with fire by 12:39 p.m. Squad 63’s crew by 12:40 p.m. reported they were westbound on a hydrant with a fully-involved garage fire and no known exposures to any houses.
ComEd was called to the scene for power lines that were involved in the fire.
A ‘good knock’ on the fire was reported by 1:04 p.m. Mount Prospect firefighters were assigned mutual aid and were released at 1:04 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service at O’Hare, the wind was from the North at 5 MPH and Air Temperature was 41°F at 12:51 p.m.
