Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Palatine responded about 7:49 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2021 to a report of a sick or injured person found on the roof at Fremd High School, 1000 South Quentin Road in Palatine. A worker was found collapsed on the roof of the high school on the south side of the school building near the football field.
Interior access for removal of the victim was not feasible, and fire command assigned Quint 85’s crew to access the roof with their main aerial at the south side of the building. Paramedics treated the patient on the roof, and firefighters and paramedics lowered him in a Stokes basket to the ground while connected to the main aerial. The patient was then transported to Northwest Community Hospital.
