Police, firefighters and paramedics from Chicago responded about 4:40 a.m. Sunday, March 14, 2021 to a report of a shooting at 6758 S. South Chicago Avenue in Chicago A shooter opened fire at a party, killing two people and injuring many others early Sunday morning on the South Side, police said. The call was initially reported as three people shot with police on the scene.

The shooting happened about 4:40 a.m. in the 6700-block of South South Chicago Avenue, according to preliminary information from Chicago police.
An EMS Plan 1 was requested on orders of Ambulance 55 by 4:41 a.m. The crew reported a very chaotic scene with people banging on the their windows and peole breaking out windows in cars on the street.
Paramedics had a shooting count of 3 or 4 people by 4:47 a.m. as the count was rising.

An EMS Plan 2 for multiple gunshot victims was requested by 4:50 a.m. on orders of Ambulance 55’s crew. Walking wounded victim were assembled at the first triage ambulance — CFD Ambulance
An EMS Plan 3 for multiple gunshot victims was requested by 4:51 a.m. on orders of Ambulance 14’s crew — the second triage ambulance. Ambulance 55 was the first triage ambulance.

Battalion Chief 19 requested two additional Advanced Life Support engine crews by 4:55 a.m. EMS Command was 4-5-8 and 4-4-12.
Chicago Fire Department was aware of 8 patients, classified as 7 Code Red patients and one Code Black victim by 4:57 a.m. A patient was later located at Keefe Avenue and South Chicago Avenue; and also later located at 69th Street and St. Lawrence Avenue.
“One of the patrons began to shoot inside the building striking multiple people,” according to the Chicago Police Department.
Fifteen people were struck by gunfire, two fatally, police said. Initially there was a report that 10 people were shot with two killed, but at least five other people were transported to hospitals by personal vehicles. The ages of the shooting victims range from 20 to 44 years old.

Several victims were transported to area hospitals, including Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Cook County and St Bernard’s. Several patients were listed in critical condition. At least one of the two shooting victims that were killed was reported dead at the scene.
The EMS Plan 3 was secured by 5:09 a.m.
Chicago police officers recovered four guns at the scene, according to Chicago police Superintendent David Brown speaking to press at the scene Sunday morning.
Area One detectives are investigating.

Ambulances confirmed on the scene were A55, A14, A50, A38, A1, A58, A4, A8, A79, A71, A36, A37, A9, A68, A18 with CFD EMS command officers 4-5-8 4-4-12. Ambulance 60’s crew was also assigned for a person with a medical issue at 69th Street and St. Lawrence Avenue nearby. A patient also walked up to Ambulance 18’s crew after the EMS Plan 3 was secured.

The shooting occurred in the Park Manor neighborhood of Chicago, just southeast of the split from I-90/94 to the I-90 Chicago Skyway and I-94 where the Dan Ryan Expressway toward the Bishop Ford Expressway. The crime scene is also a short distance from the Chicago Police Department’s 3rd District Grand Crossing police station.
