The identities of three people killed in a high-speed two-vehicle crash just before 7:44 a.m. Sunday, March 7, 2021 in Mount Prospect were released Monday, March 8, 2021 as Francisco Flores Rodriguez, age 58; Georgina Perez Gomez, age 59; and Francisco Javier Flores Perez, age 31.
Francisco Flores Rodriguez, Georgina Perez Gomez, and Javier Flores Perez lived in the block of 7500 Elmhurst Road in Des Plaines, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Mount Prospect police confirmed on Sunday evening, March 7, 2021 that the three crash victims that were killed were traveling in a white Honda sedan southbound out of the Mount Prospect Plaza shopping center, when the Honda was struck by a gold Ford SUV headed northwest on Rand Road. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The SUV, which was apparently traveling at an excessively high speed on US-12 West (Rand Road), hit the driver’s side of the white Honda and rolled. Both vehicles came to rest about 185 feet from the point of impact. The Ford SUV rolled onto its roof, and both vehicles slid over 60 yards into the eastbound lanes of Rand Road.
The identity of the male driver of the Ford SUV was not initially released, and charges were not initially filed. He was transported by Mount Prospect Fire Department paramedics to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.
