Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Schaumburg responded about 10:37 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2020 to a report of a fire in a bathroom in a townhouse in the block of 1000 Casa Drive in Schaumburg. A resident thought the fire might be behind a wall.
Police first on the scene confirmed there was a fire in the townhouse.
Interior firefighters reported a fire in the wall on the second floor, and led out with a hose line up the stairs. Firefighters pulled down the ceiling to check for fire extension into the attic. By 10:47 a.m. an interior crew reported the fire was out. A fire crew reported no fire extension into the attic by 10:49 a.m. The attic of the adjacent unit was also checked for fire extension.
Firefighters ventilated the interior of the home, and investigator arrived to check for the cause and origin of the fire.
Firefighters reported the fire was out by 11:01 a.m. and that companies were checking for hots spots in the townhouse.
