Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Huntley responded about 5:26 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2021 to a report of a crash with injuries at Route 47 and Kreutzer Road in Huntley near Sun City. A male driver from Carpentersville driving northbound crossed over into a southbound lane and struck a pickup truck.
The first fire crew on arrival report two vehicles involved with moderate damage. One person was discovered dead at the scene, and a second person was injured. A second ambulance was requested by 5:32 a.m. The condition of the second, injured motorist was initially unknown. The victim killed was a male, age 27, of Carpentersville.

Aerial video from ABC 7 Chicago video showed a 2016 GMC Sierra pickup truck with severe front-end damage and a 1999 Acura sedan with damage on the driver’s side … with the vehicles wedged together.
The Kane County Coroner’s Office was immediately notified, and an extended crash investigation was ongoing Monday morning. The Speed Limit on Route 47 is 45 MPH according to a Google Maps Street View image captured July 2019.
