Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul announced in a tweet on Monday, January 11, 2021 that Facebook had temporarily blocked him from posting to his account. Ron Paul said the block was applied to his Facebook account for “repeatedly going against our community standards,” according to Facebook.
His Facebook account, his posts, and even his latest post remain visible, but when he tries to create a new post, the social media company automatically blocks his posts.

“With no explanation other than “repeatedly going against our community standards” @Facebook has blocked me from managing my page,” Raul tweeted. “Never have we received notice of violating community standards in the past, and nowhere is the offending post identified.”
Paul’s tweet included a screen grab showing the message informing him of his “limited page functionality.”
Ron Paul added on Twitter, “The only thing we posted to Facebook today was my weekly “Texas Straight Talk” column, which I have published every week since 1976.”
Ron’s son, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, responded to Facebook blocking his father by tweeting, “Facebook now considers advocating for liberty to be sedition. Where will it end?” Ron Paul retweet his son’s tweet.

Ron Paul had written an article about social media the responses and suppression of Donald Trump communications by social media companies after the siege of the U.S. Capitol.
Depending on severity, Facebook applies blocks of posting for increasing duration. For example the first block may be a 24-hour duration, followed by one or more 3-day blocks, followed by a one month block, followed by account deletion. Ron Paul did not mention the duration of the Facebook account suspension.
When a Facebook account is blocked, the block is also applied to private messaging on Facebook. In other words, Ron Paul is likely blocked from responding to any personal messages he may receive during the block. Senders do not get a message from Facebook that the message is undeliverable. The block also applies his personal page, and any other business pages that he may have or try to initiate.
