Police and firefighter/paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 7:02 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2020 to a report of a house fire in the block of 1600 North Yale Court. The fire was reported in the basement and possibly related to a furnace.
Upon arrival firefighters reported smoke showing and upgraded the fire response to a Working Fire call at 7:05 p.m.
Firefighters immediately extinguished the fire in the basement, and went to work ventilating and clearing smoke from the house. The main aerial was raised from Tower 1 in case it was needed, but it was not needed, and no holes were cut in the roof for ventilation. Tower 1 was backed down the street because the house is located on a Cul-de-Sac
No injuries were initially reported at the fire scene.
