Red Nissan 370z crashed into the back wall of a house off of Dempster Street between Wisner Street and Elmore Street in Niles (radar image not live).
Police and firefighter/paramedics from Niles responded about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 to a report of a car crash into a building at Dempster Street and Wisner Street in Niles. Police firefighters found the crash nearby at Dempster Street between Elmore Street and Wisner Street. There was no entrapment.
Firefighter/paramedics responded to check for hazards after the driver of a Nissan 370z drove through sand barrel barricades, a wood fence, and the rear brick wall of a house.
NorthShore Updates reports the car narrowly missed a child playing in the basement of the house. A chain link fence was recently replaced by the wood fence that was damaged Tuesday morning.
The Speed Limit along Dempster Street is 35 MPH according to Google Maps Street View. The crash was located just before the exit from Dempster Street to Route 21.
The Niles building department responded to the scene to check for structural damage.
