Cost Plus World Market announced this week that the Mount Prospect store in Randhurst Village is closing.
When Bed Bath & Beyond announced the Mount Prospect store was closing last December 2019, there was concern that the Cost Plus World Market in Randhurst Village would also be destined to close. The concern is now come true as bad news at the end of 2020.
Cost Plus World Market has been a subsidiary of Bed Bath & Beyond since being acquired in 2012.
Cost Plus World Market is a chain of specialty/import retail stores, selling home furniture, decor, curtains, rugs, gifts, apparel, coffee, wine, craft beer, as well as several international food products and gifts. Formerly the brand’s name originated from the initial concept of selling items for “cost plus 10%”. Headquarters is located in Alameda, California.
Inventory at the store — favorite of many — will likely clear quickly as the store will be open for several weeks. A final date was not initially been set.
