Incumbent Democrat Kim Foxx is projected to win a second term State’s Attorney of Cook County — fending of a challenge from Republican Pat O’Brien, who conceded late Tuesday night.
Cook County State’s Attorney Election Results
Kim Foxx/Democrat 895,586 (53.7%)
Patrick O’Brien/Republican 662,640 (39.7%)
In suburban Cook County, Patrick O’Brien was ahead of Kim Foxx 398,996 votes (50.90%) to 334,806 votes (42.71%).
In third place, Libertarian Brian Dennehy achieved 109,638 (6.6%) in total in Cook County, and 50,014 (6.38%) in the suburbs.
Stats involve 98% reporting for overall and suburban statistics.
The high rate of Chicago shootings and murders and the mishandling of the Jussie Smollett case were apparently not attributed to Kim Foxx by the majority of City of Chicago voters.
Foxx is entering her second term as State’s Attorney of Cook County.
