Illinois State Police and firefighter/paramedics from Elk Grove Township responded about 4:15 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020 to a report of a rollover crash with injuries at I-90 westbound near Arlington Heights Road and Toll Booth Plaza 18. Initial reports of the crash were not precise with one report as far as Route 53. A tollway camera captured the image of the wreck location.
The Illinois State Trooper on arrival reported a vehicle upside down on its roof. Elk Grove Township firefighters arrived by 4:26 a.m. No extrication was required. The driver and the passenger of a rolled black Jeep were injured, but up and walking outside the Jeep. Both crash victims were transported to Northwest Community Hospital with injuries that initially appeared to be non-life-threatening.
Arlington Heights Fire Department firefighter/paramedics were dispatched, assigned as the second ambulance at 4:31 a.m.
The crash was affecting traffic on westbound I-90. At one point in time, all westbound lanes were blocked. The rolled Jeep was totaled, and was located in the center lane at or near the entrance ramp from Arlington Heights Road to westbound I-90.
