Police and firefighter/paramedics from Palatine responded about 3:43 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2020 to a report of a townhouse fire with smoke showing from the first floor in the block of 1900 Brice Court.
Interior crews reported they did not need a second line by about 4:03 p.m. but then they discovered a fire in the attic. Arlington Heights Engine 4’s crew was assigned to take a line up to the attic.
Primary searches were completed on the first and second floor of the building by about 4:11 p.m. The building does not have a basement.
All utilities were secured by 4:15 p.m.
Firefighters were working on positive pressure ventilation by about 4:16 p.m. Apparently the fire was extinguished by about this time.
Secondary searches were clear on both floors by 4:19 p.m.
Initially there were no known injuries. “Loss stopped” was marked by 4:36 p.m.
