Police from Arlington Heights responded about 10:19 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020 to a report of a crash into a pole at the northeast corner of Rand Road and Dryden Avenue, across the street from Midas and near the Route 12 Rental Company.
Police on arrival discovered an Audi crashed into a wood utility pole on Dryden Avenue near the northeast corner of Rand Road and Dryden Avenue. The driver fled the scene on foot, and was apprehended a short distance away.
The driver was transported in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters. Initially there were no injuries reported.
There was no known widespread power outage reported immediately after the crash. The utility pole was repaired, replaced or removed Sunday, October 11, 2020.
