Illinois State Police and firefighter/paramedics from Schaumburg and Elk Grove Village responded about 6:03 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2020 to a report of a rollover truck crash with several vehicles on southbound ILIL-53/I-290 south of Higgins Road.
Elk Grove Village firefighter/paramedics, while heading northbound, reported the crash involved a truck on its side that was about half-way between Higgins Road and Biesterfield Road in the right lanes. The crash was located near Woodland Meadows Park in Elk Grove Village.
Schaumburg’s Battalion 5 reported no entrapment, but one driver was seriously injured. Later it was discovered that two patients were seriously injured.
One patient was transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge and one patient was transported to Alexian Brothers Medical Center.

The truck was transporting a load of corn, and corn has spilled over the roadway, and will require extensive clean-up.
Southbound traffic was backed up to Golf Road at 6:30 a.m.
