Woman killed, 8-year-old boy seriously injured in crash on the inbound Eisenhower Expressway just west of Harlem Avenue near Forest Park, Illinois.
Illinois State Police and firefighter/paramedics from Forest Park responded about 4:29 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2020 to a report of a rollover crash with ejection on the inbound (eastbound) Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) just west of Harlem Avenue.
Police and firefighter/paramedics on arrival reported a vehicle fire and an adult female dead at the scene. A boy involved in the crash was transported to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was listed in serious condition.
The identity of the woman killed was not initially released.
All eastbound lanes of the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) were shut down west of Harlem Avenue to East Avenue due to a fatal crash investigation. Major delays were reported, and the inbound Eisenhower Expressway was backed up to Wolf Road or I-294 at various times Friday morning. Outbound (westbound) traffic on I-290 was also delayed.
