The National Weather Service office Chicago is not declaring Freeze Warnings until Spring since many areas of Chicagoland already experienced their first freeze. Arlington Heights has not recorded a freezing temperature yet this Autumn 2020, but there is a small chance somewhere in Arlington Heights could hit 32°F.
Friday morning was balmy at 4:00 a.m., but an autumn cold front changed that by 9:00 AM: Air temperature at O’Hare was 70°F at 2:51 a.m. at O’Hare. At 5:51 a.m. the air temperature was still holding at 68°F. However, the temperature dropped to 57°F by 8:51 a.m. and 47°F by 11:51 a.m. and forecast to hit 37°F by 3:00 a.m. The low could hit freezing as the forecast low is 33°F for 7:00 a.m.
