Police and firefighter/paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 8:23 p.m. Tuesday, October 20 , 2020 to a report of a house fire in the block of 2300 South Cedar Glen Drive.
Firefighters on scene reported smoke showing from the roof, while neighbors reported flames showing from the back roof.

Firefighters attacked the fire with two hand lines, reporting an attic fire. The interior firefighters discovered an attic filed with fire, just beginning to burn a hole through the roof at the back of the house. Tower 1’s crew raised the main aerial ladder to the roof while an interior crew extinguished the fire in the attic. The fire was extinguished by about 8:45 p.m. Firefighters from Tower 1 cut a hole in the roof and soaked the very top of the roof to further extinguish the fire on the outside.
Firefighters were working on wash-down by about 9:00 p.m.
Initially no injuries were reported, and some out-of-town crews started returning by about 9:10 p.m.
