Riverside, California firefighters arrived to find a tree trimming truck fully-engulfed with fire, and ended up fighting a house fire (LOUDLABS).
Firefighters from Riverside City Fire Department responded about 2:08 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2020 to a report of a truck fire in the block of 1200 Spring Street in the city of Riverside. On arrival fire crews located a fully-engulfed tree trimming truck and a palm tree on fire. The fire quickly caught a home on fire, and unfortunately the home was completely lost due to the fire. Witnesses saw large explosions coming from the fire, according to LOUDLABS freelance news in southern California. The cause of the explosions were initially unknown, and the cause of the truck fire is under investigation.
A tree trimmer’s truck caught on fire and extended to a very large double palm tree with a lot of dead and dry fronds in the front corner of a residential lot. The truck fire extended to the palm tree and the palm tree fire extended to the house, which was located right next to the Riverside Canal near Spring Street and Iowa Avenue. Firefighters also fought to prevent extension of fire from the first house fire to the second house next door. The destruction of the second house to the east of first house that was on fire was prevented by firefighters. However, there was damage to the second house.
When any kind of work is being done near your home, it’s always a good idea to stay a little extra alert for the unexpected.
