A college football player was airlifted to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital after being seriously injured during practice at Trinity International University.
Police and firefighter/paramedics from Deerfield responded about 11:44 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 to a report of a football player seriously injured on a practice field at Trinity International University, 2065 Half Day Road, Deerfield.
Upon arrival, Deerfield-Bannockburn FPD Rescue Squad 19’s crew requested a helicopter and a landing zone setup at a practice football field next to Leslie Frazier Field.
A LifeNet medical transport helicopter was dispatched, and the helicopter landed on the practice football field about 12:22 p.m. The football player was transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois.
Trinity International University lists their address in Deerfield on their official website, but the university is located in the Village of Bannockburn.
