Chicago police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:23 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2020 to a report that a young girl was stabbed by an adult in the block of 3200 Fulton Boulevard.
Police on arrival at a residence in the East Garfield Park neighborhood discovered a 5 or 6-year-old girl stabbed with at least two wounds on her body. Police determined the adult female is is related to the girl.
Police secured the scene as they were approached by a 27 year-old female, who was taken into custody.
The girl was treated and transported by Chicago Fire Department paramedics to Level 1 Trauma Center Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
