Police and firefighter/paramedics from Waukegan responded about 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2020 to a report of a home invasion in progress that eventually resulted in two suspects shot at the home in the block of 100 North Frolic Avenue. At least one of the suspects was reported to be armed with a gun. A neighbor also reported hearing gunshots and seeing two gunshot victims down in the front yard.
Upon arrival police discovered two male gunshot victims in the front yard. Police immediately determined the scene was secure, so that paramedics could begin to make patient contact with the victims. Both male gunshot victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are investigating a report that shots were exchanged between the resident or homeowner at the home and the armed offender(s). Initial investigation indicates the two male gunshot victims had attempted to force their way into the home and an altercation ensued with the occupants of the home.
