A 21-year-old male suspect from Lake in the Hills is facing three felony charges connected with a shooting of a man in Elgin in late August 2020 near a strip mall.
Dru K. Jarvis, of the block of 1300 Cunat Court in Lake in the Hills is charged with three counts of aggravated battery with a firearm for allegedly shooting a man on August 29, 2020 in the block of 300 South McLean Boulevard in Elgin. The male gunshot victim was hospitalized with a gunshot wound initially believed to be non-life-threatening.

Jarvis was arrested on Thursday, September 3, 2020 during an Elgin Police Department investigation that began when police were called to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, where the male gunshot victim arrived via personal transportation about 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2020.
Elgin police were also already investigating a report of shots fired that same Saturday night in the block of 300 South McLean Boulevard where a strip mall is located. The Elgin Police Department did not specify the location at or near the Elgin Mall.
During the investigation, Elgin police detectives identified Jarvis as a suspect, and the Kane County state’s attorney’s office authorized an arrest warrant for Dru K. Jarvis.
Jarvis was arrested after he was located in the block of 1100 North McLean Boulevard in Elgin about 1:15 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2020. Jarvis was taken into custody without incident. He appeared in Kane County Court Friday, September 4, 2020. A Kane County judge set his bail at $250,000 with $25,000 (10%) to apply for bond.. He remained in custody Sunday pending a scheduled court appearance Sept. 10, 2020 at 9:09 a.m. at Kane County Judicial Center Courtroom 311.
