McHenry County sheriff’s deputies and firefighter/paramedics from Woodstock Fire Rescue District responded about 4:27 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2020 to a report that two motorcycles crashed at the intersection of Davis Road and Stieg Road in unincorporated Seneca Township southwest of Woodstock.
Deputies and firefighter/paramedics upon arrival discovered that a rear-end collision occurred involving a 59-year-old Lake in the Hills man and a 51-year-old Algonquin man each riding Harley-Davidson Street Glide motorcycles. A second ambulance was dispatched to the scene, and both motorcyclists were transported to a hospital.
According to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, both men were riding east on Davis Road when the 51-year-old male motorcyclist slowed down to turn right on Stieg Road. The 59-year-old motorcyclist was not aware that the other driver was slowing and collided into the back of the front motorcycle.
The 59-year-old man was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
