Prospect Heights police on Monday, September 14, 2020 announced that they are seeking help from the public in the identification of two male suspects in connection with an armed robbery and shooting at the 7-Eleven at the northeast corner of Wolf Road and Camp McDonald Road about 2:43 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2020.
The Prospect Heights Police Department released surveillance images of Suspect #1 and Suspect #2.
Suspect #1 was wearing a black sweatshirt with a hood, a black mask or balaclava, red gloves and blue jeans.
Suspect #2 with a very slight mustache, was wearing a black Adidas sweatshirt with a black-on-black Adidas logo, a gray hooded sweatshirt underneath, a blue bandana mask with white design markings, black sweat pants and dark shoes.
The Prospect Heights Police Department urges anyone with information about the suspects to call the Prospect Heights Police Department at 847-398-5511, extension 151. Prospect Heights police stated that anonymous calls about the suspects are also welcome.
Police from Prospect Heights and Mount Prospect and paramedics from Mount Prospect responded about 2:43 a.m. Monday August 31, 2020 to a report that a person was shot during an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven, 1 North Wolf Road in Prospect Heights.
Police arrived first on the scene and determined the scene was secure by 2:49 a.m. According to a person familiar with the business, a store clerk was shot, and the gunshot victim suffered injuries that were initially believed to be non-life-threatening.
Prospect Heights Police Department or Mount Prospect Police Department initially did not release any wide area information about the robbery with a shooting involved, and did not release any information about police activity overnight or whether they were searching for any suspect or suspects. The Prospect Heights 7-Eleven is located immediately adjacent to residential neighborhoods within the village limits of Mount Prospect.
Initially no suspect information or vehicle information is available.
The same 7-Eleven was previously robbed on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 11:11 p.m. by an offender armed with a kitchen knife.
