Police and firefighter/paramedics from Des Plaines responded about 5:06 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2020 to a report of a pedestrian hit by a freight train near West Park, 651 South Wolf Road. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that the victim was north of the tracks.
Firefighter/paramedics on arrival reported one patient down at the scene with a train stopped at the scene.
Des Plaines firefighters confirmed that there was only one patient, as a Mount Prospect ambulance was also dispatched to the scene.
The one injured victim was transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
