Illinois State Police, Chicago Police and firefighter/paramedics from Chicago responded about 5:50 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2020 to a crash involving a semi-trailer tanker truck and a motorcycle on the outbound Kennedy Expressway at Addison Street. The crash was located near the west (north) end of Blue Line train station shelter.
The motorcyclist was transported with life-threatening injuries to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
The Addison entry ramp to I-90 West (northbound) was shut down about 6:05 a.m. All lanes of the outbound Kennedy Expressway were blocked before the crash scene just north Addison Street.
The outbound Kennedy Expressway was backed up to about Armitage Avenue and Ashland Avenue at 7:00 a.m.
