A man was shot in the leg Wednesday night, in what police said began as a road rage incident in north suburban Lake Forest.
Police and firefighter/paramedics from Lake Forest responded about 8:02 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2020 to a report that a person was shot in a vehicle in the southbound lanes of Route 41 north of Route 60.
The male victim shot was treated by Lake Forest paramedics and transported to a nearby hospital
The offender’s vehicle was described as a white Dodge Charger with two Mexican flags in the back window. The white Dodge Charger may have gunshot damage to the rear window. Initially the Charger was described as a black Dodge Charger.
The driver was described as a male/Hispanic wearing a white shirt.
A passenger was described as a male/Hispanic wearing a blue striped shirt.
The passenger was last seen on foot from the scene, and the driver and offender’s vehicle were last seen westbound (on Route 60?) from the scene.
Southbound US 41 remained closed in the area for investigation of the shooting with one wounded. The victim’s vehicle was a dark blue or black older model Chevrolet Tahoe that was hauling a boat on a trailer.
The crime is reported to have occurred about 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2020.
