Libertyville police responded about 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2020 to a report of criminal damage to progress captured on security video at an apartment building in the block of 100 East Cook Avenue. The man was damaging property in a common area at the apartment building, according to a Libertyville Police Department police report.
Upon arrival, police found the male suspect, Gennadiy Zakharov, of Parkside Court in Vernon Hills, on the property shortly after 8:00 a.m.
While being taken into custody, Zakharov resisted officers and punched an officer in the face, according to the police report. Zakharov was transported to a nearby hospital. He was also issued a trespass warning for the property.
Zahkorov was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, criminal damage to property, and criminal trespass to real property.
Police responded a second time when Zahkorov arrived at the same apartment building. Police received a report that Zahkorov was on the property just before noon on Thursday, September 17, 2020. Zahkorov was apprehended for the violation of the trespass warning, and was taken to the Libertyville Police Department where he was cited and taken to the Lake County Jail.
Zahkorov was again charge with criminal trespass to real property at the Libertyville apartment complex.
