Wheaton police responded about 5:00 a.m. Sunday, August 23, 2020 to report of an armed home invasion in the block of 1700 East Evergreen Street in Wheaton
Two men, one armed with a gun, entered the home and attacked an injured a resident of the home. The injuries to the victim were described as non-life-threatening. Another person in the home came to the aid of the victim, and the suspects fled the home. The two suspects left the scene in a vehicle initially only described as a dark-colored sedan.
The home invasion may have involved an attempted sexual assault. Another home invasion was reported in the block of 400 South Highland Avenue in Lombard, where police received a report that three offenders entered a home and threatened a woman before 5:40 a.m.
Wheaton Police are urging residents in the neighborhood to check their video surveillance images for potential information on the suspects or their vehicle.
The suspects were described as two male/black subjects in their late teens or early 20s.

The Wheaton Police Department also advised residents to call 9-1-1 if they witness or encounter suspicious activity.
