Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul opens up about being surrounded by protesters after leaving White House.
Rioters attempted to attack Sen. Rand Paul and his wife and two women who accompanied them as they left the Republican National Convention at the White House in Washington D.C. After the Republican National Convention, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul was shaken after being mobbed by protesters outside of the White House. Sen. Rand Paul, his wife and two friends were making their way back to their hotel after President Donald Trump’s speech when they say they found themselves surrounded by people trying to attack them. Demonstrators were out in force during Trump’s acceptance speech for his party’s nomination for president. Trump spoke for 70 minutes before a crowd of about 2,000.
Sen. Rand Paul said threats included ‘f’ you up, murder. A mob pushed the one police officer that was trying to protect them.
Rand Paul said he believes there is interstate criminal traffic with rioters being paid to travel and riot in cities.
Sen. Rand Paul also shared the irony of rioters asking him to say her name “Breonna Taylor” because he introduced the Justice for Breonna Taylor Act in 2020 to end the use of no-knock warrants — the type of incident that killed Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old African-American emergency medical technician, when she was hit by multiple rounds on March 13, 2020.
Sen. Rand Paul says he was surrounded by ‘angry mob’ after RNC.
A witness of the streets scene near the White House reported that BLM protesters yelled racial slurs at a black friend that was accompanying a white friend at White House.
Windows in Washington D.C. were boarded up at bars and restaurants. Protestors, wearing black, were smoking weed and screaming insults to people passing by — often shoving them.
