Arlington Heights police responded on August 13, 2020 to investigate a report of sexual abuse of a resident by a maintenance worker at The Reserve memory care and assisted living facility at 1625 South Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights. The Arlington Heights police conducted an investigation, including analysis of surveillance video of the hallway outside the women’s room, and arrested the maintenance worker 6 days later. The maintenance worker was arrested at the Arlington Heights police station at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2020 after turning himself in to police.
Francisco J. Lopez, 55, of Kingsdale Road in Hoffman Estates was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse after he allegedly abused an 84-year-old woman in early August .
Francisco Lopez at an Arlington Heights memory care facility was ordered held on $50,000 bail Thursday, August 20, 2020, and remains in custody at Cook County Jail.
The female victim reported the abuse to managers at The Reserve on August 13, according to Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Nicole Murphy. Employees reviewed surveillance video that showed Lopez entering the resident’s room four times when he had no assigned maintenance duties in the woman’s room.
Francisco J. Lopez is scheduled to appear in Cook County Circuit Court on Friday, September 11, 2020.
