The Luzerne Hadley Fire Department responded about 7:30 p.m. Sunday August 9, 2020 to a destructive house fire on Chuckwagon Trail in Lake Luzerne, New York near Lake Vanare. The home and property is owned by celebrity chef and talk show host Rachael Ray. Several fire departments assisted Luzerne Hadley Fire Department with tankers trucks (tenders) and to extra fire personnel.
“Celebrity chef Rachael Ray, her husband John Cusimano and their dog Bella are safe after a blaze broke out in their Lake Luzerne, New York home late Sunday evening. The fire broke out at 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening at the lakeside property. Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze but say there was nothing suspicious. One official said the flames appear to have started in the roof and quickly spread through the home three hours outside of New York City. Ray thanked first responders in a tweet.”

Rachael Ray, her husband John Cusiman, and their dog Bella escaped the house fire without initial reports of any injuries.
The home’s location in rural upstate New York has no neighborhood fire hydrants, and firefighters had to fill portable water tanks to shuttle water to the fire scene.
Rachael Ray’s episodes have been produced in the Lake Luzerne home with husband John Cusiman while the coronavirus pandemic caused a shut down at the production facility in New York City.
