Activist Miracle Boyd was with a group of protesters that tried to pull down the Christopher Columbus statue in Grant Park on Friday, when cell phone video appeared to show a police officer punching her in the mouth as officers tried to clear Grant Park (CBS Chicago).
An independent journalist, Jesus Salazar, has claimed that Miracle Boyd is expressing a false allegation that she was punched by a Chicago Police Department police officer with force that “knocked her front teeth out.”
Late Sunday, Jesus Salazar on his Facebook page. states his office, “Salazar & Koreal Media WBJT- TV have opened a full scale complex financial investigation into Miracle Boyd; who’s made false, repetitive and fraudulent statements both to the general public, more than this she’s being investigated by local law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois.”
“As the Lead Investigator it is my duty to ensure accountability is met and merited,” said Salazar.

Reporter Jesus Salazar reported that Miracle Boyd never went to the hospital after this alleged attack by a Chicago police officer occurred. He said there are no reports of her going too the hospital.

Salazar claimed he saw her teeth knocked out prior to the Columbus statue riot event on Friday July 17, 2020 in Chicago.
A gofundme account, since disabled by the organizer, raised $83,691. The organizer that established the gofundme account claimed to be Anthony Clark, who says he is a high school teacher. Clark reported that a “video shows Miracle speaking with officers, while backing away from an increasingly agitated police force. In the process of Miracle attempting to deescalate, video captures an as of now unidentified officer knock Miracle’s phone away & throw a left punch that struck Miracle in her face. ” Another video of Miracle Boyd’s actions prior to the punch does not show her backing off, and in fact shows her acting aggressively toward police while interfering with their arrest of another person.
As a teacher, I see first hand, how so many of our youth are struggling physically, as well as mentally. It truly takes a community, a village to step up & address the systemic issues that lead to these struggles.

Miracle Boyd, a rising young activist of GoodKids MadCity was brutally assaulted by a Chicago police department officer, an attack that was captured on video.
Miracle, who is 18 years old, had just spoken to a crowd protesting at the Christopher Columbus statue in Grant Park, as she continues to collaborate & mobilize around an end to systemic police violence & lack of neighborhood investment.
The video shows Miracle speaking with officers, while backing away from an increasingly agitated police force. In the process of Miracle attempting to deescalate, video captures an as of now unidentified officer knock Miracle’s phone away & throw a left punch that struck Miracle in her face. Miracle clearly injured & stunned, then runs away from this officer & his fellow officers that failed to stop this attack & hold this officer accountable.
Black & Brown youth continue to experience severe emotional & physical distress from encounters with police.
Miracle is going to require medical support in her journey to repair the physical & emotional damage done by this violent encounter.
All funds raised will go directly to supporting Miracle in receiving the medical, dental, & mental health support she requires as she continues on this journey of healing.
We also call for Chicago’s Mayor, Lori Lightfoot & the Chicago Police Department to identify the officer that assaulted Miracle & bring him to accountability.
Community members continue to mobilize & call for change in our communities, yet the powers that be continue to place more value on racist relics than human lives.
The Chicago Police Department is not keeping Chicago residents safe. Instead, CPD continues to add to the violence.
