Natalia Wallace, age 7, was visiting her grandmother for a July 4th party when someone pulled up and opened fire. CBS 2’s Steven Graves reports.

Police officers and firefighter/paramedics from Chicago responded about 7:00 p.m. Saturday July 4, 2020 to a report of a shooting of a child in the block of 100 North Latrobe Avenue in the Austin neighborhood on Chicago’s west side.

Natalia Wallace, age 7, was found with a gunshot wound to the forehead, and was transported to Stroger Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The girl was on the sidewalk while attending a Fourth of July party at her grandmother’s house.

Three suspects got out of a white sedan fired shots toward her direction. More than 20 rounds were fired at the scene, according to Waller said.

Wallace was transported to Stroger Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Also at the scene, a second victim, a 32-year-old man, arrived at Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the ankle. He was listed in fair condition.

No suspects are in custody. Chicago police urge anyone with information about the case to leave an anonymous tip at cpdtip.com.
