Police and firefighter/paramedics from Des Plaines and North Maine Fire Protection District responded about 5:07 p.m. Sunday July 26, 2020 to a report of a house fire in the block of 400 Good Avenue in northeast Des Plaines.
Heavy black smoke was reported by 5:08 p.m. and the fire call was upgraded to a working fire response.
North Maine Engine 1’s crew on arrival report about 5:09 p.m. smoke coming out of most windows on the second floor. Engine 1 reported the first floor was boarded up, and many of the second floor windows were open.
Firefighters from Niles were dispatched mutual aid for the working fire response. Firefighter/paramedics from Arlington Heights, Park Ridge and Rosemont to standby in a Des Plaines fire station(s).
Fire command reported water on the fire by 5:14 p.m. , and the fire was declared under control by 5:26 p.m.
Initially no injuries were reported.
