Weather Radar (also nexrad.chgowx.com) shows a severe storm over west Palatine and Inverness at 5:35 p.m., and a new storm rapidly developing over Bloomingdale that will likely be in a track over Arlington Heights by about 6:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. The primary concerns are severe lightning and possible flash flooding, and to a lesser extent, high winds. Lightning strikes, including roof strikes, are possible with these storms.
UPDATE: The storm cell on track for Arlington Heights diminished between Busse Woods and Arlington Heights. The storms this afternoon have had a history of building rapidly and then collapsing.
Air temperature is above 80°F with rain and the Dew Point is about 70°F after being above 70°F most of the day.
