The Gordon Food Service (GFS) store location at 1930 North Rand Road in Palatine was sold will be converted into a Caliber Collision Center, an auto body repair and paint shop. No other GFS stores in Chicagoland are affected. GFS — which serves commercial customers including restaurants, schools, universities, healthcare facilities, hotels, and stadiums.
Following the Palatine store closure, the closest GFS stores are in Schaumburg at 1005 East Golf Road in Schaumburg, and Niles at 50 Golf Mill center. GFS has 12 remaining stores in Chicagoland, including Aurora, Burbank, Chicago-Brickyard, Evanston, Joliet, Lansing, Niles, Olympia Fields, Orland Park, Pleasant Prairie (WI), Villa Park, and Woodridge
Caliber Collision is based in Lewisville, Texas more than 1,100 locations in 32 states and Washington D.C.
The Caliber Collision center in Palatine is expected to employ 25 full-time employees. Annual revenue is projected to be approximately $4 million to $5 million. Prior to the Palatine store opening, there are 38 Caliber Collision centers in Chicagoland, and one center near St. Louis in Swansea, Illinois.
